WE BELIEVE WE CAN FLY Imagine being stuck on another planet. You're away from home. What would You do? You'd think of a way back to Your home planet, right? Well, that's the case we (Me and Billy that is) had to face in this out of this world story. It's a complete departure from the down to earth stories I've been writing (except for the one where we go to Aquitar). We've been dealing with Zordon for a while now. However, in this story, we have different problems. See what You think of it and drop Me a line (Planeteer6@aol.com) Note: The title might sound surprising to some of You, but *please* read it first *before* You send Me a zillion Emails. I do welcome Your comments, but take the time to read the story first, then send in the comments. Okay, enough of this, here comes the story! ;) ESCAPE FROM PLANET ARUS One night, after I'd finished all I had to do, I finally turn off the TV and I went to sleep in My cozy little bed. Billy was sleeping over My house, and we had just finished watching Space Jam. It was an excellant movie. We were going to talk about it, but it was late. So we both tucked ourselves in and went to sleep. I slept for a while. After a few hours of sleep, I noticed I wasn't sleeping in My bed anymore. I was sleeping right next to Billy next to some weird castle. It was as though we were abducted by aliens or somthing. This was not our home planet Earth, I saw no cities, no roads, nothing. The Planet was Earthlike. Even worse, we could contact our friends using our commicators. We were definitely far from planet Earth. I tapped Billy to wake Him up. "Billy...wake up. Look!" I said as I tapped. "Uhhh. Eddie. What is it?" Asked Billy, as He opened His eyes. "That! That castle wasn't their before!" I said as I pointed to the castle. "Yeah, where did that come from?" Billy asked, amazed. This seemed to remind us of Super Mario Bros 64. It was a game I had. But this castle was sort of different, and we asked should we walk into it? We had a tough time deciding what to do? What could possibly be behind that castle door? "Think, Billy, how DO we get out here?" As we were thinking, Billy noticed something at the bottom of the moat. "Hey Eddie, look I see something at the bottom. What do You think it is?" He asked. "I don't know, it's blue, and we can see it. Maybe it's a submarine. No Submarines are a different color, and what would it be doing at the bottom of a moat?" I said. "Their's only one way to find out." Said Billy. "We'd have to dive down and see whatever this is." I said. "Okay, Ed. Hold Your breath." Said Billy. We took a deep dreath, and dove right in. We got closer and closer.... it was a robot shaped like a lion. How could it have sucked to be the bottom. We had to hurry, we were running out of air. Their was a hatch, we pulled it open, and we jumped in then we shut it, otherwise, the ship would flood and we would drown. "Whew, that was a close one!" I said as a caught My breath. "Yeah, not let's see it this could get us back to Earth." Said Billy. "I hope it does." I said. We remembered the song from Space Jam "I believe I can Fly" we didn't give up, now that we've gotten this far. "Look, Ed! The controls!" Billy pointed out. "We're in a space ship. Talk about sunken treasure! Well, I hope it works. Otherwise, we we're sunk." I said. Well, the next challenge we faced was how would we be able to operate this ship. Time wasn't on our side, because soon the people who lived in the castle would soon wake up and notice us. We tried everything, but nothing would work! Billy noticed somthing, and He frowned, "Look Eddie, this ship needs a key, just like a car." "Oh no! We're stuck here for....wait. I'll try one of My keys." I said. Miraculously, one of My keys fit, and the controls lit up like a Christmas tree. We tested everything, and soon I started to get the hang of it. "We're ready to go!" I said. Billy counted down "5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." And I blasted off, out of the water and into the sky. We sang the song "I Believe I can Fly" and we were flying! We were in space. But the smoothness of the ride didn't last. We noticed someone was behind us. Whoever was in the ship was using a similar ship, but it was much bigger. "Return the blue lion to planet Arus." Said the pilot. He was able to communicate with us. "And what's that?" I asked. "You're riding it!" Said the pilot. "What is Your name?" Billy asked into the speaker. "Keith," was the reply. "We're going back to out planet, and You shall not disrupt our journey." I said. Gee, where was Samus or Cestro when You needed 'em? I'm sure they'd help. Nobody said the ride back to Earth was going to be smooth. No we have someone following us. We tried to evade Him, but no matter how hard I tried, we couldn't lose the myseroius ship who was still behind us. After about 15 minutes, for some reason, He had to turn back. Low power maybe. Lady Luck was with us once more, and we continued on our journey to earth. We hoped we were going in the right direction. "Hey, Eddie, can I try guiding this ship?" He asked. "Sure." I said. I showed Him what to do, and He got the hang of it. What was going through our minds at that point, You may ask. Well, Billy thought about that planet, not Arus, but Moron Mountain. He decided to bring it up to Me. "Hey, Eddie, what if we were to land this thing on Moron Mountain?" He asked. "Let's not think about it. And how would You know if it existed?" I asked. "Oh, it was just a guess." Said Billy. "That's okay, let's hope WE don't run out of power, like that guy Keith did." I said. Besides, IF we landed this on Moron Mountain, they'd make this ship there star attraction. That would be nice for them, but how would we be able to get home? Hopefully, we wouldn't pass their. The trip lasted about 28 hours. Billy and I took turns back and forth piloting the ship. We enjoyed it. Soon we noticed we were entering our solar system. Their was pluto. We passed the other planets, after Jupiter. We had to avoid the asteroids. And some fancy flying we had to do. We got through, just past Mars, we our home planet, Earth! Boy were we happy to get to Earth! We got closer...and closer. "We're here YAYAYAYAYAY! But, Eddie, how will You land?" Asked Billy. "I don't know. How DO we land this thing?" I asked. We were flying over cities, thinking of where to land. Something came to My mind. "I know, we'll land in the ocean and the swim the ship back to the shore." I said cheerfully. We did land, and then for a while Billy drove the ship to the Coney Island shore. I was nighttime. We emerged, hoping not to be noticed by anyone. I took My keys, of course. And we walked home. We went to sleep. Just as I tucked Myself in, I woke up! This was all a dream! Coinsidentally, Billy had the same dream. We sat and talked about it for a while, and then we walked to the place we landed the ship, and indeed it was gone. What a dream we had. After talking about the adventure we had in the dream, we got back to talking about Space Jam. Yes, and we DID fly! THE END
